Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister within Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident right from the day she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks after the first time she tried out. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and signed with Adidas to become professional athlete. The following year she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed among the top three athletes at her particular events.
